Real Estate Photographer Job Description (Contractor – 1099)

We are always on the lookout for experienced real estate photographers and videographers to join our team in several counties in and around Metro Atlanta (review our service areas).

Real Estate Photographer Job (Contractor)

These are contracted positions; therefore, assignments are not guaranteed. However, photographers and videographers can expect fair compensation based on their expertise when assigned.

Application Instructions:

Interested candidates must be willing to sign a non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreement.

Please be prepared to supply your portfolio, list of equipment, and relevant certifications us. Ensure your portfolio includes samples of both real estate photography and videography.

If you have the Part 107 certification, please include examples of your drone photo and video work as well.

 

Real Estate Photographer Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in real estate photography and videography.
  • Punctuality and strong time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in bracketed HDR photography.
  • Reliable transportation – you will be driving to and from client sites – you must be on time for appointments.
  • Pass a criminal background.

Key Responsibilities for Real Estate Photographers

  • Capture high-quality interior and exterior real estate photographs.
  • Shoot engaging real estate videos highlighting property features.
  • Strictly follow our style guide for consistent imaging and videography.
  • Understand and utilize HDR photography techniques.
  • Coordinate with homeowners and agents, ensuring timely arrival to appointments.
  • Upload unedited images and videos to us within specified timelines.

Camera Equipment Real Estate Photographer

  • Own a full-frame camera with a wide-angle lens, preferably 16-35mm.
  • If not in possession of a full-frame camera, a crop sensor with a wide-angle lens capable of capturing 16-18mm is acceptable – if you do not know the difference, please look this up.
  • A sturdy tripod that extends to at least 60″.

Camera Equipment for Real Estate Videography

  • Ownership of a camera capable of shooting at 60 frames per second with a wide-angle lens, 12-18 mm full frame (or equivalent). Advanced smartphones with “pro” grade cameras 
  • Stabilizer (Gimbal) for smooth video capture.
  • OPTIONAL equipment: wireless microphone.

Preferred Qualifications for Real Estate Photographers (Not Mandatory but a Plus):

  • Experience with real estate photography with other companies like ShowingTime+, HomeJab, etc.
  • Experience with real estate drone* photography and videography.
  • Ownership of a 360° camera (Theta Z1, SC2, etc.).
  • Experience creating virtual tours like Zillow Home Tour, iGuide, Matterport, etc.
  • Experience with CubiCasa.
  • Experience capturing agent videos.

*Drone operators: you must own a drone and have a valid Part 107 certification. You must also be insured during our assignments.

 

Real Estate Photographer Compensation

  • In addition to the basic compensation, real estate photographers who contract with us start at about $50 per hour. They can earn more if they are qualified to provide multiple services on assignments. For example, our premium assignments often include interior and exterior photography, video walkthroughs, drone photos and videos, and a virtual tour.
  • Paid training is available at 50% of our normal rate.
  • Based on your willingness to travel outside of your county, travel reimbursement is available.
